Six months after Chess Events EAC was born and a month after chess updates from Uganda began streaming in more regularly (thanks to Uganda Chess Federation), we have our first piece of chess-related information from Tanzania: the listing of a chess club in Dar es Salaam on our ‘Chess Clubs’ page. The club is called ‘Jua Chini Chess Club’ and is led by Cyrille Girardin who is on a mission to bring more chess players in Dar es Salaam together through his informal chess club.
With the internet making it so easy to send and receive information from all corners of the globe, I hope other chess clubs across the EAC (particularly in Rwanda and Burundi) will take advantage of our website and write in soon with details on their club’s activities.
