Uganda’s FM Elijah Emojong fell at the hands of India’s Puranik Abhimanyu (rated 1918) in the seventh round but recovered to beat Godbole Atharva also from India in the eighth round played on Wednesday 21st September 2011.
Emojong now has 4.5 points out of a possible 8. Leading the tournament after 8 rounds is Bulgaria’s Grandmaster Aleksandrov Aleksej at 7 points out of 8 followed by Ukraine’s GM Kravtsiv Martyn (rated 2583) at 6.5 points.
The event ends with the 11th round on 24th September 2011.
