Uganda’s Elijah Emojong lost his ninth round game to an Indian International Master D. P. Singh but recovered in the tenth and final round to force a draw against another Indian Pradeep Paranja rated 2044 in the Mumbai Mayor’s International Chess Championship that ended on Saturday 24th September 2011.
The event was won by Bulgaria’s Grandmaster Aleksandrov Aleksej (rated 2618) with 9.5 points out of a possible 11 followed by Ukraine’s GM Kravtsiv Martyn (rated 2583) at 9 points.
Emojong won 5 games, drew 2 and lost 4 to finish with 6 points out of a possible 11 and in 112th position out of 269 participants. He finished ahead of two IMs.
