Following on the heels of their January and March tournaments, Tanzania Chess Association is organising their next event – the May Chess Arena – to be held over the weekend of 26th and 27th May in Dar es Salaam.

Led by Nurdin Hassuji, the federation is keeping its promise of reviving competitive chess in the country with regular tournaments and the use of social media to reach out to existing players. It is believed that they are also in the process of re-registering with FIDE.

Dates: Saturday, 26th May and Sunday, 27th May 2012
Time: 9 am on Saturday
Venue: Joevic Pub, Kawe, Dar es Salaam
Mode of Play: 7 rounds Swiss system
Time Control: 60 minutes per player to finish the game
Participation Fee: TZS 10,000/-
