UG: Ugandan Team Set for Showdown with Kenyans

Uganda’s National Chess team comprising of four players is set to depart for Nairobi, Kenya on the morning of Friday 10th February 2012 for a friendly show down with Nairobi Chess Club players on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February 2012.

Uganda’s team comprises of Arthur Ssegwanyi, Harold Wanyama, Bob Bibasa and Haruna Nsubuga. It will be led and captained by UCF General Secretary, Christopher Turyahabwe.

Nairobi Chess Club will comprise of Mehul Gohil, Ben Magana, Githinji Hinga and Peter Gilruth. The event is FIDE rated and is also being used as a warm up by players from both countries.

The trip is fully sponsored by Nairobi Chess Club and it is anticipated that this will become an annual event.
